Chapter 308

n

n

nNot much had changed after killing all the devils and closing the gate connecting Earth to the Demonic Realm.

nAnd the sky was now blue as if nothing had ever happened.

nAfter that, Koreans that had fled to foreign countries began to return.

nMin Sung, Ho Sung Lee, Woong Jang, and Sia Jang, sat around in the living room and watched Koreans return home through the news on TV.

nThe sight of the country’s citizens returning was a historical moment.

n“I feel like it’s finally hitting me after seeing the news. I feel like you fighting the devils was a dream. Or wait, maybe it was a nightmare.”

n

n

nHo Sung Lee smiled bitterly at the news.

n“Where’s Bowl and Repone?”

nMin Sung asked Ho Sung Lee.

n“The Central Institute is watching over them. They said the healing would take a while.”

nHo Sung Lee looked at his watch and continued, “Since I sent them over early in the morning, we’ll probably get a call soon.”

nMin Sung nodded.

n“Sir, don’t you want to eat? You haven’t had a single meal.”

nMin Sung sighed and nodded.

n“Yeah, let’s eat.”

n“Shall I decide on the menu?”

n

n

n“Yeah.”

nHo Sung Lee smiled and rolled up his sleeves as he walked toward the kitchen.

n“Let me help you.”

nWoong Jang followed Ho Sung Lee.

nAs for Sia Jang, she said she had something to do and went upstairs to the second floor.

nMin Sung quietly watched the citizens return on TV.

nMin Sung’s eyes looked blank as he watched the news, and they looked dark and flat.

n***

nHellcard’s eyes moved from side to side as he laid in the coffin.

nHellcard then noticed the Dionysus Gods staring down at him.

n

n

nHellcard, who was wrapped up in bandages, slowly got up from the coffin.

nAfter doing so, he cracked his neck and wriggled his waist back and forth.

nCrackkk!

nThe sound of his muscles cracking could be heard.

n“Sigh.”

nAnd when Hellcard let out a sigh, a white breath came out.

nThe Dionysus Gods stared at Hellcard with nervous looks on their faces.

nHellcard, who had his head down, slowly flipped his head back and looked up at the dark sky in admiration.

nIt appeared that he didn’t care about the Dionysus Gods around him.

nThe blonde god smiled lightly and walked toward Hellcard.

n

n

nAs soon as he did, Hellcard smiled and looked at the blonde god with threatening eyes.

nThe eyes of the god in charge of maintaining Heaven and the former owner of the Demonic Realm met.

n“How does it feel to wake up after such a long time?”

nThe blonde god asked.

nInstead of answering, Hellcard took off the bandages around his body with his own hands.

nOnce the bandages came off, Hellcard showed himself.

nThe Dionysus Gods looked at Hellcard in surprise.

nHellcard was the size of an average human being.

nAs the former owner of the Demonic Realm’s name was like a legend, the Dionysus Gods imagined Hellcard to have a different image.

nThe outer appearance of Hellcard was not much different from regular devils.

n

n

nDark skin and red eyes.

nNo, he looked so average that the Dionysus Gods would have believed it if he said he was just a regular devil.

n“I’m curious to know why the dogs of Heaven woke me up.”

nHellcard asked in a low voice while scanning the Dionysus Gods.

n“The dogs of Heaven? How dare you…!”

nOne Dionysus God shouted with rage, but he was unable to continue.

nHellcard reached out his hand, and the Dionysus God who shouted with rage got pulled toward Hellcard’s hand.

nAnd then…

nGrab!

nHellcard grabbed onto the Dionysus God’s throat.

nHellcard’s eyes were covered in grey scales, and a red fire was covering his entire body as if he was lava.

nHellcard unleashed incomparable presence and the desire to kill.

nHe no longer looked like just an ordinary devil.

nHellcard gave off a threatening presence that made it clear that he was completely different.

nEven the other Dionysus Gods flinched and froze up without being able to step up.

n“U-ugh!”

nThe Dionysus God wriggled around with dark sparks all over his body in the hands of Hellcard.

nThe Dionysus God in Hellcard’s hand looked like he was in pain as if he was on the verge of extinction.

nThe blonde god watched with a stiffened face.

n“If you don’t let go, you’ll be at work with Heaven. And I’m sure you know you’re not as powerful as you once were.”

nHellcard smiled and wiggled his tongue.

nHis long tongue stuck out of his lips and flailed around.

n“Please understand that this isn’t why we pulled you out of the seal.”

nIt was a serious situation, but the blonde god kept his calm.

n“You sure know how to talk since you’re a maintenance guy.”

nHellcard let go of the Dionysus God.

n“Gasp…!”

nAs soon as Hellcard let go, the Dionysus God landed on his butt and grimaced in pain.

n“Then tell me why you woke me up”

nHellcard looked at the blonde god with relaxed eyes.

n“Do you know who the current owner of the Dmonic Realm is?”

nThe blonde god asked.

nHellcard retraced his memory and smirked.

n“It’s probably that weak bastard. Was his name Veld? I bet it’s him. Who else could it be?”

nThe blonde god nodded.

n“That’s right, but Veld has gone extinct.”

nHellcard’s eyes were filled with interest.

n“Who did it?”

n“A human.”

nIn response, Hellcard’s eyes twitched.

n“A mere human killed the owner of the Demonic Realm? No matter how weak he was, how could he get killed by a human? Do you expect me to believe that?”

n“And that human is now the owner of the Demonic Realm.”

nHellcard’s already enraged eyes were filled with more rage.

nThe fact that a human was the owner of the Demonic Realm was enough to hurt his pride.

n“But.”

nHellcard stepped closer toward the blonde god.

n“You look like you think you have me in the palm of your hands. The dogs of Heaven never know their place.”

nDespite him giving off a strong desire to kill, the blonde god wasn’t fazed.

nHe maintained his face and looked Hellcard in the eyes with a smile.

n“I’m simply here to make a deal with you. I’d rather not waste our energy on emotions. Gods like me are not interested in such things.”

nHellcard looked at the blonde god and snickered.

n“How interesting. So what do you want?”

n“Get rid of the human who’s currently the owner of the Demonic Realm.”

n“And what do I get out of it?”

n“You will reign over the Demonic Realm once more.”

n“I’m pretty sure I can still do that without helping you since you lifted the seal.”

n“As I said before, you are much weaker than you were before. And even with the seal lifted, there’s still a barrier around your body. That sign proves it.”

nThe blonde god pointed at Hellcard’s chest.

nHellcard looked down at his body.

nThe words of Heaven were written on his body like a tattoo.

n“Heaven and the Demonic Realm must establish a balance. Just like how there must be darkness if there is light.”

nThe blonde god wiped the smile off of his face and looked at Hellcard seriously as he continued, “We’ll help you get your position back.”

n“It’s hard to believe such a tempting offer. What is it that you’re hiding?”

nHellcard asked while staring at the blonde god.

n“Like I just said, it’s for balance. It’s also to avoid being played by a mere human.”

nHellcard sighed.

n“I can’t believe a human defeated both Heaven and that Veld bastard. I’m at a loss for words.”

n“Will you accept our offer?”

n“I’m curious. Where are humans from again?”

n“Earth.”

nHellcard nodded and laughed at the blonde god with suspicion.

n“Wait… Does the great god know about this? That I woke up?”

n“Of course.”

n“You sure are confident. It hurts my pride.”

nThe leisure that the blonde god had maintained began to tumble down.

nThat was because Hellcard’s eyes seemed suspicious.

nA new sensation swept all over his body from head to toe.

nA type of fear that he had never experienced before suffocated the blonde god.

nHellcard stared at the blonde god and Dionysus Gods with cold eyes and opened his lips.

n“You know, you’re really looking down on me. Especially you.”

nHellcard pointed at the blonde god with his long finger.

n“You think I’m that weak.”

nThat was when the blonde god realized that the situation wasn’t going the way he planned.

nZapppp!

nA long sword with a black light appeared in Hellcard’s hands.

nHellcard’s red and scaley eyes wriggled, and powerful magic energy launched from Hellcard’s sword and wriggled in the air.

nThe blonde god leaped back and ordered the Dionysus Gods to prepare for battle.

nThe Dionysus Gods, who were staring blankly, flinched and grabbed onto their weapons.

nThe light of Heaven gathered in all of the Dionysus Gods’ hands.

n“What? You expect me to do as you say if I don’t want to be restrained by Heaven? You must pay for refusing to bow down at my feet.”

nHellcard spoke in an emotionless voice and swung his black sword.

nA large black magic square formed on the ground, and from it came dark magic energy in the form of a demon that charged toward the Dionysus Gods around him.

nThe Dionysus Gods attempted to use their godly abilities to block the demon’s magic energy, but Hellcard’s magic energy was more powerful than they imagined.

nThe magic energy penetrated through the Dionysus Gods’ godly abilities and damaged their arms.

n
