Chapter 309
n
n
nThe Dionysus Gods looked down at their arms with shocked faces.
nTheir arms were dying away.
nThe dark energy was stuck on them like cancer, and now that the Dionysus Gods were weak after having handed their power over to Veld, they were unable to fight back.
nUpon seeing the Dionysus Gods groaning in pain and wobbling around, Hellcard tilted his head in confusion.
n“Huh? Are you joking?”
nSince Hellcard didn’t know that the Dionysus Gods had given their power to Veld, he thought they were just joking around when they were unable to fight back.
n
n
nBut once Hellcard realized that they weren’t fooling around, he laughed.
n“Wow… I can’t believe this.”
nAs soon as Hellcard lifted his sword, the blonde god stepped up.
n“What made you so confident to wake me up…”
nJust as Hellcard continued, the blonde god launched a gold light.
nA gold pattern was drawn underneath Hellcard’s feet.
nIt was God’s power that was different from a magic square, and that power wasn’t something that the blonde god created himself.
nThe former great god had put up a barrier against Hellcard.
nThe former great god sealed him off so that he could never get out, and the blonde god was able to use his power to make that barrier even stronger.
nHellcard’s smile faded, and he felt his body freeze up, and that feeling showed on his face.
n
n
nHellcard’s face grimaced like a crushed can.
n“You assholes…!”
nBlacklight radiated from Hellcard’s eyes, and a dark aura spread out from his body in all directions.
nBut that was simply Hellcard’s existence and color, not any kind of strength.
nHellcard was unable to move, and he simply expressed his rage.
nThe blonde god knitted his brows at Hellcard.
n“Even if lack of trust is a common characteristic in devils, how could you let your feelings get ahead of building trust so that we can effectively communicate?”
nHellcard ground his teeth and glared at the blonde god.
nIn response, the blonde god smiled.
n“Do you accept our offer?”
n
n
nThe blonde god asked in a friendly tone.
n“What if I don’t?”
nHellcard asked back.
n“Then you must return to your coffin,” replied the blonde gold calmly.
nHellcard looked down at the words written on his body and snickered.
n“I see why you were so confident. But…”
nHellcard, who hung his head, lifted his face back up and stared at the blonde god.
n“You’ve got the wrong guy. I’ll show you just how big of a mistake you’ve made.”
nHellcard laughed.
nUpon confirming that Hellcard had no intention to surrender, the blonde god had to seal him back up.
n
n
nAs soon as the blonde god gathered all of his godly abilities, Hellcard felt a great pressure on his entire body.
nJust as the blonde god took out the seal of Heaven to use on Hellcard.
nHellcard wriggled his tongue and began to show changes in his body.
nThe blonde god looked at Hellcard with surprise.
nHellcard was shedding as if he was a snake, and then he shot up to the sky.
nThe blonde god looked up in Hellcard’s direction with shocked eyes.
nSomething twinkled in the sky, and soon after, Hellcard fell back down on top of the blonde god’s head with a sword in his hand.
nThe blonde god activated a tent to block Hellcard from attacking him, but Hellcard broke through it easily.
nHellcard opened his mouth to laugh and just before he tried to bite his shoulder.
nSwoosh!
n
n
nThe blonde god as well as the Dionysus Gods disappeared into thin air.
nHellcard wriggled his long tongue. He scanned around to check that they were no longer down and then snickered.
nHellcard looked at his own coffin and the tombstone covered in chains and burst into laughter.
nThe emotions that Hellcard had inside of him rang through the land of the Demonic Realm in the form of laughter.
n***
n“Sir, it’s time to eat.”
nHo Sung Lee notified Min Sung that the food was ready.
nMin Sung, who was deep in thought, put the weight behind him as soon as he heard that it was time to eat.
nOnce he got to the table, he smelled something spicy.
nHe salivated before he even sat down.
nMin Sung sat down and looked at the dish that Ho Sung Lee prepared.
nIt was stir-fried small octopus.
nThe octopus as well as various vegetables floated on top of the broth, and the sesame seeds that were sprinkled on top made for a fantastic view.
nMin Sung lifted his chopsticks and began his meal.
nHe started with the white rice followed by the onions and the main attraction, the octopus.
nThe sweet yet spicy sauce woke up his tastebuds, and he loved the chewy texture of the octopus.
nAs for the crispy onions, it was sweet and it got rid of the greasy flavor completely.
nMin Sung immediately picked up a perilla leaf and placed rice, octopus, and pickled radish on top and put it into his mouth.
nOm nom!
nThe pickled radish was refreshing, and the spicy octopus made his body heat up.
nOn top of the savory perilla leaf, the heat of the spice made him feel hot.
nSpicy flavors had a way of getting rid of stress.
nMin Sung enjoyed the spiciness and the texture of the octopus and focused on his meal.
nThe rice disappeared in no time, and so did the octopus.
nHo Sung Lee and Woong Jang’s octopus dish was so delicious that no restaurant could beat it.
n***
nThe blonde god and the Dionysus Gods returned to Heaven.
nThe blonde god’s face grimaced with rage while the Dionysus Gods simply looked shocked.
n“What do we do about this…?”
nOne Dionysus God asked with a blank face.
nHe spoke on behalf of all of the Dionysus Gods.
nThe blonde god was no longer able to smile or show a relaxed look on his face.
nThe Dionysus Gods felt like they were about to lose their minds.
nThe situation was not going the way they expected.
nThe Dionysus Gods believed that since Hellcard was restricted, they could utilize Hellcard to their advantage as long as they kept that barrier up.
nBut that belief was nothing but a misjudgment that turned into a tragedy.
nHellcard easily escaped the restriction.
nHellcard freed himself from the seal, and the fact that he was now free was dangerous beyond anyone’s imagination.
n“Hellcard will certainly kill all humans in the human world and reclaim his position as the owner of the Demonic Realm.”
nIn response to one Dionysus God’s remark, the blonde god looked up to stare at him, but the Dionysus God disregarded him and continued, “It’s obvious that Hellcard will become the devil king once more. We must report the current situation to the great god and prepare a war against Hellcard.”
nIn response, the other Dionysus Gods nodded in agreement, and all of their eyes were fixed on the blonde god.
nThe blonde god covered his face with his pale hand and sighed.
n“We can’t do that.”
nThe Dionysus Gods all stared at the blonde god, unable to understand.
n“Why not? Then are we just going to watch Hellcard reclaim the throne?”
nOne Dionysus God strongly opposed the blonde god.
nThe blonde god slowly removed his hand from his face and lifted his head.
n“The great god didn’t give us permission to lift Hellcard’s seal.”
nThe Dionysus Gods fell silent as if they were drenched with cold water.
n“What do you…”
nThe blonde god answered, but the Dionysus Gods still couldn’t understand reality.
n“Even if the great god allowed it, if things took a different turn, that would mean we never had the great god’s permission.”
nThat was when the Dionysus Gods understood what the blonde god was saying.
nIf they succeeded, that meant that it was the great god’s command, but if they failed, the responsibility would be on them.
nThe great god dodged responsibility.
nWhat the blonde god was talking about was outside of the rules.
nThe blonde god let out a long sigh.
n“That’s not what’s important. The point is, we failed.”
n“Then what do we do now?”
nThe Dionysus Gods stared at the blonde god in despair, and their shoulders trembled.
nAll of the Dionysus Gods felt it instinctively that they were unable to dodge the responsibility.
n“If we have to take responsibility, I believe you, who maintains Heaven, should step up…”
nOne Dionysus God spoke up but trailed off, and the blonde god smirked.
n“Do you really think I can take the fall for everything when you were also a part of entering the Demonic Realm and lifting the seal?”
nThe Dionysus Gods trembled.
n“The great god will soon find out that we failed, and the rumor that Hellcard has woken once more will spread through Heaven. None of you will be able to dodge the responsibility.”
nThe Dionysus Gods were unable to blink due to the shock.
nIt was clear that their future was over.
nThe blonde god looked around at the Dionysus Gods and slowly opened his mouth.
n“… Since we failed, we will become traitors of Heaven, and we’ll be used to fight in the war against the Demonic Realm, and that’s how we’ll go extinct. If that’s not the case, there will be other ways. But what’s for certain is that the worst is yet to come.”
nThe blonde god smiled faintly and continued, “So…”
nThe Dionysus Gods looked back at the blonde god.
n“Let’s go over to the Demonic Realm. I’ll convince Hellcard.”
nThe blonde god offered the Dionysus Gods to be their fallen angel.
n
