Chapter 337

n***

nHo Sung Lee left through the back door and put a cigarette in his mouth.

nHe figured Min Sung Kang had met Leight by now.

nHe had declared that he would wipe out all criminal organizations to the presidents as well as the hunter leaders.

nIf Min Sung Kang made that declaration, that meant it was all over.

nMany people would die.

nBut that still couldn’t be a clear solution.

nThe commander of Central Institute as well as Ethan expressed that the corruption would transfer elsewhere.

nBut if it was Min Sung Kang’s godly abilities, wouldn’t it all be possible?

nIt was impressive enough that he had the ability, but such arrogance often led to a devastating disaster.

nThat was proven by history.

nHumans couldn’t be free from the restraints of money.

n“Huu.”

nHo Sung Lee exhaled the smoke and thought about Leight.

n“I hope he doesn’t resist.”

nHo Sung Lee shook his head in worry.

n***

nMin Sung looked down at Leight. Leight was staring back at Min Sung with wide eyes.

nIt appeared that he didn’t want to back down.

nMin Sung stared at Leight for a while before somebody knocked on the metal doors.

nThe doors opened with a creaking sound, and two hunters on guard entered.

n“Did you call, Sir?”

nIn response, Min Sung pointed at Leight with his chin.

n“Free him.”

n“Even his gag?”

nMin Sung nodded.

nThe two hunters on guard approached Leight and lifted the magic that tied up his body and took out his gag.

n“You may leave,” said Min Sung.

nThe two hunters on guard paid their respects and left the room.

nLeight was nervous, but he tried his best not to show it.

nHe rubbed his arms and stretched while glancing over at Min Sung.

n“What do you want from me?” Leight asked Min Sung with glaring eyes.

n“You have no intention to cooperate,” said Min Sung with a cold and emotionless gaze.

nIn response, Leight froze up instantly.

nIt wasn’t because Min Sung gave off any kind of killer vibes.

nJust by looking into Min Sung’s eyes, he felt as though the last of his will got pulled out by the roots.

nFor that reason, Leight began to tremble.

nLeight had never seen the kind of coldness that he saw in Min Sung’s eyes.

nAnd within that coldness was cruelness beyond belief.

nCountless citizens of the world were worshipping Min Sung Kang.

nBut they didn’t know the true side of the hero they were worshipping.

nLeight had seen the true side of that hero for the first time.

nThe true side was very dark, and within that darkness was Hell.

nJust by having a look at Hell, he felt as though his heart was sinking.

nThat was when Leight realized just how pleasant dying was.

nThe reason why he came to that realization was that Min Sung Kang, who was standing in front of him, gave him no leisure to even think about dying.

nDying was a privilege… at least in front of him.

nAnd Leight sensed that clearly in front of him.

nIn Leight’s eyes, Min Sung Kang looked like someone who just walked out of Hell.

nAnd what Leight didn’t know was that that was true.

n“It’s easy to choose death, but don’t think that that’s the end.”

nLeight stared at Min Sung, unable to understand what he meant.

nMin Sung continued, “If you die, I’ll turn your body into the Undead, and I’ll be sure to catch your soul and trap it within that body.”

nLeight looked shocked.

nAnd it didn’t just end there.

nMin Sung continued, “Then I’ll torture you until your soul turns into shreds. That torture will be so painful that not even I could handle it,” said Min Sung calmly.

nHe said it as if it was no big deal, but to Leight, who was on the receiving end, it was no light matter.

nLeight felt like he was standing in front of the messenger of Hell.

nNo, if the messenger of Hell had met Min Sung, he would have run away in fear.

nHe had never thought that Hell would follow after death, but Min Sung was explaining that to him.

nHe had fought off devils in the Demonic Realm.

nIt was very likely that what he was saying was true.

nAnd that realization made fear take over his body.

nTremble!

nHis body shook like a leaf.

nAt this point, Leight couldn’t even bring himself to stare up at him.

nHis plan couldn’t be transferred into reality.

nHe swallowed his pride as the head of X-HIT and decided that he couldn’t go through with resisting.

nAll that remained in his head was fear.

nHe was the hunter who stopped the Demonic Realm from taking over the world.

nAnd he felt pathetic for thinking that he could stand a chance against him.

n“What can I do…?”

nHis voice trembled, but he managed to sound out his words.

nIt was hard to even speak in front of Min Sung.

nHe was scarier than any monster he faced in a dungeon.

n“It’s simple,” said Min Sung.

nLeight gathered his courage to look up at him, and once he saw his cold eyes again, he immediately looked down.

n“Hand over the information regarding the drug organizations that hunters are involved in. You’ll have to give me information that you can’t even remember.”

nMin Sung walked toward Leight and stood close.

n“I think that should be pretty easy. Don’t you agree?” Min Sung asked Leight.

nLeight gulped.

n“Yes, Sir,” answered Leight while trembling.

n“Let me say this again. If you don’t follow my orders, you’ll be subjected to unbearable pain. You’ll resent that you were ever born and lived this life.”

nThere was no worse threat than that.

nThe way Leight saw it, he wasn’t the type to make negotiations.

nBut he was one who kept his promises, and that was what Leight found the most frightening of all.

n***

n“How did it go?” By the time he got up to the lobby of Central Institute, Commander Ji Yoo Kim, who was waiting, ran over to him and asked.

n“Is that an actual question?” Min Sung asked with a grimace.

n“He agreed, didn’t he?”

nJi Yoo Kim smiled as if she was satisfied.

n“Of course.”

nMin Sung spoke while walking quickly, and in order to keep up, Ji Yoo Kim had to run.

n“Did you eat?” Ji Yoo Kim asked with a smile while keeping up with Min Sung’s pace.

n“I did,” said Min Sung.

n“Then how about dessert? Or coffee?”

nMin Sung stopped.

n“Do I have to?”

n“Yes. I have something to ask you.”

nMin Sung thought for a moment before nodding.

n“It’s on me today. Where are we going?”

n“Really? I’ll take you to a place I know,” replied Ji Yoo Kim with a smile.

n***

nHe arrived at a dessert café with Ji Yoo Kim. Since it was a weekday, there weren’t many customers.

n“It hasn’t been long since it opened, so it’s not famous yet. But it’ll be famous soon. Their desserts are absolutely delicious.”

nIn response, Min Sung nodded and entered through the glass doors.

n“Hell…”

nThe female owner, who was about to greet them brightly, saw Min Sung and showed a surprised face before looking relieved at Ji Yoo Kim.

n“Ji Yoo,” the female owner greeted brightly.

nIn response, Ji Yoo Kim looked apologetic.

n“I’ve been so busy that I haven’t visited lately. I’ll come more often from now on.”

n“That’d be my honor.”

nMin Sung scanned the shop and when he looked in front of him, he saw the female owner bowing at him.

n“Nice to meet you. I’m Hyun Kang. I’ve known Ji Yoo since I was little.”

n“I’d like to order.”

nIn response to Min Sung’s stiff words as if he had no interest in chatting, the female owner looked taken aback, but when she saw Ji Yoo Kim’s smile, she felt at ease again.

nShe went back to the counter and looked at Ji Yoo Kim and Min Sung.

n“Are you okay with Americano? That goes best with the desserts.”

n“Sure.”

nOnce she made her recommendations and completed their order, Min Sung took out a card from his wallet.

n“But what’s gotten into you? Why are you paying when this was my idea?”

nJi Yoo Kim asked with a cute laugh, but Min Sung simply waited to pay as he opened his mouth.

n“Because I have a lot of money now.”

nJi Yoo Kim laughed, and even the female owner who was processing his payment looked amused.

nMin Sung thought that women were strange before staring at Ji Yoo Kim.

nAlthough she was the commander, she was still young.

nAt times like these, she didn’t look like the commander of Central Insitute, but rather just an ordinary woman in her 20s.

nIt was both good and bad that she didn’t lose her bright personality despite her struggles, but he didn’t think of it as a bad thing.

nIt was a strength for a leader to not turn dark.

n“Huh? Is there something on my face?” Ji Yoo Kim asked with a flushed face.

n“No. I was just thinking that you don’t seem suited to be a commander.”

nJi Yoo Kim frowned.

n“You’re mean.”

nMin Sung ignored her. He took his card back and sat down.

nHe sat near the window and enjoyed the scenery outside.

nIt was a beautiful winter scenery.

nHe saw a tree, and it was bent in a beautiful way.

nWhile Min Sung admired the views, Ji Yoon Kim, who was chatting with the female owner, brought the dessert and drinks over once it was ready.

n“It looks delicious,” said Ji Yoo Kim with a bright face, unable to hide her smile while looking down at the dessert and Americanos.

n“How pretty.”

nIn response, Ji Yoo Kim lifted her head in surprise.

nMin Sung was looking out the window.

nJi Yoo Kim followed his gaze outside and smirked.

nIt was snowing.

n“I thought you were telling me I was pretty.”

nMin Sung looked at Ji Yoo Kim.

nShe was looking out at the snow with a smile on her face.

nAfter staring at her for a while, Min Sung realized that for the first time. He chose to look at something else other than food.

nIt was an unfamiliar feeling, and he wasn’t used to it, which made him feel uncomfortable.

n
