Chapter 340 - Butler Limo Began Recounting

n

n

nRutherford had now had enough of the nonsense she was spouting.

nNot only did she enter his room but she had also not returned when he had commanded her to.

nTo top it off, her insolence had reached its pinnacle when she had brazenly confessed to her Mistress' husband and was about to make a move on him.

nThe Earl could not believe that there could be someone with such a delusional and shameless mind.

n

"Enough!

" His stern and authoritative voice were loud enough to alert the old man who was standing outside the door, guarding the office.

nButler Limo, outside and Paula inside the room, both flinched at the intensity in his voice.

nA chilling aura rose in the room which resulted in fear finally emerging in the woman's heart who was kneeling before him.

nThe hand which she was in the air and about to be placed on his thigh, froze right where it was.

nPaula did not dare to move another inch and gulped anxiously as she took in the look that was now on the Earl's face.

n

"Butler!

" He called out without bothering about the trembling woman still kneeling before him.

nThis loud shout warranted the old man standing outside to immediately enter the room without knocking or waiting for permission.

nThe first scene that caught his eye was the maid kneeling on the floor right before their Master and the Master who was glowering while staring right at him.

n___

nThis scene was where the Butler had begun his narration of the events he had witnessed to his Young Miss.

nYvonne raised her brows as she concentrated on his version to not miss any details of the turn of events that transpired today.

nThus, Butler Limo began recounting what he had seen this afternoon.

n___

nThe first thing that the cunning old man did was widen his eyes as he alternated his gaze between the two people he found inside the room.

n

"Master, she?

" Butler Limo pretended to be caught off guard by this shocking sight.

nHe was the one who allowed the maid to enter by disappearing from his station, yet he behaved as stunned by her presence here.

nThe Earl who had observed this was furious since this only meant that the maid had lied about being ordered by the Butler to serve him tea.

n

"Did you send her here?

" He interrogated his loyal servant as he knew that Limo would never lie to him.

nJust as he had expected, Butler Limo once again widened his eyes and shook his head in staunch disagreement.

n

"No Master, I would never send anyone else into your office.

" He asserted while glaring daggers at the maid who had dared to do so.

nThis was all the Earl wished to know as he diverted his stern eyes toward the woman who was staring at the Butler.

n'Always ruining my plans!' She glared back at him, forgetting that the Master was watching her.

nNot willing to look at this ungrateful maid, he averted his eyes and fixed them on his Butler.

n

"So how did she enter my room from right under your nose?

" Rutherford snarled his inquiry, truly angered at what he had just faced.

nIndignance and irritation were visible on his face which proved what he was feeling right now.

nHearing this question, Limo panicked as he was the one who had stepped away from the door to let her enter.

nHowever, this was supposed to be a secret between himself and the Young Miss.

nHence, he lowered his head to beg for forgiveness.

n

"Master, please forgive my incompetence!

" He pleaded and bent his back to prove that he was truly sorry.

nThis plea for forgiveness was for what he had done and for what he was about to say.

n

"I had just stepped away from the door for a few seconds to check on something.

" He disclosed and raised his head as he glared at the maid once again.

n'I did step away but it was to let her enter this room.' He concealed the part he had played in this plan.

nHe had only skipped out a part of what had happened so that could not be considered as lying to his Master.

nAfter hearing this, Rutherford's eyes fell on the maid and disgust rose in his heart.

n

"My Ray has always treated you well but this is how you repay her?

" He scowled, rising from his seat.

nHe felt that his room office was now contaminated after what had taken place.

nThe words she had uttered in confession of her adoration for him and the fragrance of roses that reminded him of his wife was still lingering in this room which provoked his aggravation.

nWalking away from the couch that he had been seated on until now, he stood next to his Butler as the two men fixed their eyes on the culprit.

n

"So your grand scheme was to remain in the house by not accompanying my wife and accomplish this wretched plan?

" His words and eyes bore holes into her.

nPaula's eyes were brimming with tears as she shook her head.

n

"Master, I like you and all I wanted was to serve you.

" She pleaded her cause while scrambling to her feet.

nThe moment she took a step forward, Butler Limo blocked her path and did not allow her to get any closer.

n

"You have done enough. You still dare to talk in this way before the Master?

" He glowered as he was angry at her bold words.

nAlthough he was happy to see that she had not succeeded in her wicked plans, rage boiled in his chest when she said those words.

nThis Master was someone whom he had served for many years and he knew that he was a family man.

nHowever, the disrespectful maid had not only attempted to seduce his Master, but she was also trying to do so right in his presence.

n

"What was your plan? To sneak into Master's room and drug him?

" He spat out while eyeing the tea she had brought over suspiciously.

nPaula's eyes widened when she found that the Earl had an ugly expression on his face as he turned his gaze towards the teacup which he had almost accepted.

n

"No, Master! I would never do such a shameful thing!

" She proclaimed in a loud voice and was speaking the truth.

nShe believed that her charm and skill were enough to entrance him and hence she had not meddled with the tea that she had brought over to the office.

nThis tea was just her excuse to enter his room and it played no further part in her plan.

nBut now, this Butler was accusing her of something that she had not even thought of.

nButler Limo took a sigh of relief when he saw the fear and panic in her eyes, proving that she was not lying but her words in addition to her actions sounded like a joke to him.

n

"Shameful? Look at what you are doing? How you are dressed and where you are standing? You still say that you would not do shameful things?

" He sneered without restraint.

nThe grievances in his heart at the incidents he had witnessed of this maid eyeing his Master were numerous but he had not gotten the chance to give her a piece of his mind.

nNow that he stood before the Master with conviction that the maid's plans had failed brutally, he did not hide his complaints with her.

nPaula gritted her teeth at his words but did not retaliate as the Earl was present.

n

"That is enough.

" Rutherford spoke up after his long silence, causing them to turn towards him.

nFrom beginning to end, he ignored the maid and kept his eyes focused on his Butler.

n

"I have instructions for you.

" He announced to which Limo nodded without hesitation.

nPaula gazed at him, hoping that by some stroke of insane luck, he would forgive her and forget about this matter but that hope faded at his next words.

n

"Get this woman out of my sight this instant and clean this room by the time I get back.

" He ordered and then strode out of the room.

nLimo watched as his Master disappeared and only then did he turn towards the other person inside this room.

n

"Did you really think that you would succeed if the Madam was not at home?

" He sneered as he stepped out of the room.

nCalling for a few maids, he found that the two women who appeared were the same maids who had helped Paula back to her room.

nThey had returned after their break and wished to check up on the injured lady only to find that the Butler was summoning them.

nWhen they entered the corridor, they found the man standing outside the office which was a forbidden zone for them.

nHowever, what stunned them was the woman whose figure they caught sight of once they stood outside the door.

nHer dress, her appearance, and the tear-stained face were enough for them to give birth to numerous scary speculations.

n

"Take her to the back garden and watch her until I get back. She is not supposed to leave your sight.

" He ordered and the maids did exactly as they were told.

nHe once again watched as the three left and hurried to finish his work to get to his Master's side.

nIt took him a few extra minutes to scrub the tea stains from the carpet but the room was soon spick and span.

nHe then rushed to his Master's bedroom which opened up just as he had reached the place.

n

"Burn the clothes I wore today.

" Rutherford commanded without any emotions and began walking away.

n'Master is furious.' Butler Limo inferred after noticing the cold air that surrounded the man who exited the corridor.

nComing back to his senses, the Butler picked up the clothes from the room and ran to follow him.

n
