Chapter 45 - Awestruck (2)

n“….”
nIt was constantly popping up without stopping.
n“I woke up first so I was getting ready and…”
nDohyuk looked around and began checking.

nThe sleeping bag was all packed up and there were two more backpacks that he had not seen before with a lot of stuff packed into them. It was probably because of Heeyun. After she was done preparing, she went up to the wall to have a look around. And that’s when she saw.
n“I-I think we will have trouble getting out of here.”
n…
nKatla was once the city of Aruga, and now the city of God Yoo Dohyuk. What surrounded the city wasn’t only the wall.
n“No one can get in?”
n“Yes. I think there is some kind of condition that expels us, so I’ve sent a variety of people, but they were all teleported out.”
nKang Sukwon lit his cigarette as he listened to the report. He was the captain of this expedition crew. The expedition team left the Bermuran city of Pazudu as a part of the Crusaders. There were almost three hundred people on the team.
n“I guess ‘Lord’ Aruga is pissed,” Sukwon said as he watched the city. 100 thousand coins. That was given to anyone who ‘joined’ the expedition team. They didn’t even have to have Aruga as religion. It was enough for all groups within the city to join forces and work together. Four group leaders had received 150 thousand coins and became ‘lieutenants’ while Sukwon received 250 thousand coins.
n“I mean, this much payment would hurt even the god himself.”
nIt was a bright day and they were outside the city, but no monsters attacked them. It was also the power granted by Aruga. If he was right, if they succeeded in taking back the city and killing Yoo Dohyuk, they were going to receive the amount of coins they could not hope to gain at the current stage. Even if it was shared equally-
n‘It’s enough to make me one of the strongest in the Korean peninsula.’
nThat was what all the leaders thought.
n“Let’s get ready.”
nSukwon clapped his hands. Other people and some Bermurans who came to help came out with the catapult.
n<>
nIt was the catapult that absorbed sunlight and threw it as a ray of light like Aruga did. As they prepared, a man walked over to Sukwon. It was Ahn Suhwan, the 2nd strongest man in their city.
nHe asked Sukwon, “There were fools who were worried.”
n“Worried? Why?”
n“You know the rumors.”
n“Oh.”
nBefore they left the city, some who claimed that they were teleported out of Katla spread rumors about Dohyuk. The story said that Dohyuk had killed the High Priest and defeated Aruga. It was probably true.
n“Idiots.” Sukwon scoffed, “Fools are scared with this many people and weapons?”
n“I mean… there are some who think it’s better to wait until other teams arrive from the other cities.”
n“Are you f*cking kidding me?!” Sukwon spat his cigarette out, “Don’t say you are thinking the same thing.”
n“…I mean, if we can increase our chances…”
n“What good does it do if we have to share all those coins!” Sukwon shouted. He then turned against the people.
n“LISTEN UP YOU DUMB F*CKS!”
nEveryone turned and looked toward Sukwon silently.
n“WE HAVE 300 PEOPLE! WE ALSO HAVE CATAPULTS AND BERMURAN BACK UP! HOW MUCH MORE DO YOU NEED TO MAN THE F*CK UP AND FIGHT?! YOU ALREADY GOT YOUR 100 THOUSAND COINS!!!”
n“…”
n“…”
n“If you all heard about Yoo Dohyuk, then I assume you heard that all the others were kicked out and no one can get in anymore.”
nThere was no answer, but a silent agreement.
n“Then THINK for one god-damn second. Dohyuk wasn’t alone. There was Kyuho, the Crescent Moon, with him then. I heard he was with Dohyuk when he killed Aruga. But where is that Kyuho now?”
nSome started to brighten up. They departed the city right after the people were teleported into their city from Katla. This meant-
n“He’s probably not here yet. It’s not like he can walk in the daylight like us.”
nDohyuk was alone.
n“This is the best opportunity we have to strike him.”
n“Oh…oh!”
nIt was very persuasive and logical. Sukwon spat. The catapult was also now ready. It was then that they saw him.
n“T-there!”
n“He’s on the wall!”
nEveryone looked up. In the distance above the city wall, Dohyuk was standing, looking down at them.
n“Hey! Ready the catapults…”
nBut before Sukwon could finish, Dohyuk jumped down without any landing equipment. He landed safely from a wall that was as tall as a multi-story building.
n“…!”
n“…..!”
nEveryone, as most were the ones who had lived to the end in the previous life, began calculating how the number of stats one would need to land safely from that height.
n“Impossible…”
n“It has at least 100 on every stat…”
nThe people were shocked. The advantage in the number of men did not change, but the rumor was striking true to them now.
n“HEY! Aim at the wall!” Sukwon shouted. Dohyuk, of course, did not charge in.
n“He’s just bluffing! He’ll run back in if we threaten him.”
nSukwon needed to do something beforehand.
nCatapults aimed at the wall near to Dohyuk. They didn’t think of striking Dohyuk directly. But if they destroyed the wall, the falling debris would get Dohyuk eventually.
n“Full power!”
nCatapults began loading and as he watched, Dohyuk digested one of the things he purchased from Marie.
n“Whew.”
nHe then placed one hand on the wall and sighed. The catapult shot rays of light out, but before the catapults launched, Dohyuk mumbled, “I think I know what you’re up to.”
n<
n“But that won’t work.”
n-Flavor of Iron
n-Crazy Lunch Box (Lv.12)
n“Digest.”
nIn next moment, a ray of light shot over Dohyuk’s head. Nothing was there anymore. It was now hiding within its master’s ‘stomach’.
n“Ugh… this is…”
nDohyuk frowned as he rubbed his belly.
n“It kind of feels too full.”
n<
nHe turned against the people who came to destroy his city.

nIt seemed like many were awestruck.
