Chapter 56 - In front of everyone (2)

nChangkun’s blood kept regenerating, and the number of hounds was increasing. There were now hounds on the buildings to the left and the right, closing in on him.
n-GIVE ME SOMETHING ELSE! SOMETHING ELSE!!
nDohyuk decided and jumped. Not to the front, but to the back. All the hounds that jumped at him missed, and now Dohyuk was against a lone Kang Changkun.
n‘There’s no second chance.’
nDohyuk unleashed a series of multiple attacks. The flaming kicks streaked Changkun’s face.
n-NOOOO! I DON’T WANT THIS THING!!! THIS ISN’T YUMMY!
n“HAAAAA!”
nThe attack lasted maybe five seconds, and Dohyuk was able to land more than twenty kicks.
n“Ugh…”
nDohyuk then felt his depleted mana. Changkun was now a charred body as he fell. Dohyuk panted and looked down.
nHe felt something heavy grabbing him. It was a hound.
n“D…dammit…!”
nChangkun had burned up to the insides of his skin, but he was regenerating.
n“I… almost… died… for… real….”
nDohyuk tried to finish him off, but the hound hindered him. As Aruga had told him, it didn’t hurt. But it became a bind heavy enough to restrict Dohyuk’s moments.
n“If…if it wasn’t for the god, I really would have, like, died for real.”
n-There isn’t even a not-yummy one anymore…
nNow the hounds were grouping up. Dohyuk tried to jump away from them.
n“I won’t allow that again.”
nAs he jumped from the roof, a hound leaped up from below and grabbed Dohyuk’s leg, dropping him to the ground.
n“A m-man!”
n“Who is that?!”
nIt was an open space, or the place where Changkun had smelled Dohyuk, and where slaves had gathered.
n“I made you come here on purpose,” Changkun boasted as he jumped down. Dohyuk tried to fight off the hounds, but they stuck to him even stronger. Dohyuk was now pinned down.
n“Remember what I said?” Changkun asked as he looked at all the people. “I love it when people are watching me.”
n-Give me yummy… yummy…
n“So, what should I do with you to entertain…”
n“…You talk too much.”
nDohyuk declared and Changkun was ticked off.
n“B*TCH!”
nHe kicked Dohyuk’s stomach. Ironically, his hounds worked like armor, so he didn’t get hurt.
n“I won’t end you in just a few days. Humans are resilient even without regenerating talent. I’ll educate you on the wonders of the human body until you die.”
n“…Eat it.”
n“What?”
nChangkun thought the word was for him. But it wasn’t.
nA flame erupted around Dohyuk’s body. Changkun quickly jumped back to distance himself.
n‘Didn’t he run out of mana?’
nAll the hounds were melted. Changkun took out his dagger again. Whatever it was, he just needed to summon more hounds.
n“Let’s finish this now.”
nChangkun then cut his neck this time. Tons of blood spurted out, forming a bunch of hounds in an instant.
n“Get him.”
nThe hounds charged, but it was different now. The flames weren’t only limited to Dohyuk’s legs. Dohyuk did not try to get away from the hounds as they were destroyed the moment they touched Dohyuk’s body.
n“Have you…”
n“…”
n“Just invested all your savings in Magic?”
n“No,: Dohyuk replied and looked down at his body. What he ordered to ‘Eat’ wasn’t his mana. He spoke in a very low voice so Changkun couldn’t hear, but…
n-Faith: 70214
n“You know, I thought it was familiar.”
nDohyuk readied himself.
n“I don’t forget voices.”
n<
n<
nYummy. It was well worth it. It was a god after all, so mana simply wasn’t enough as food.
n“A fist fight! GOOD!”
nChangkun gave up on using his hounds and charged. He knew the fire didn’t mean much against him anyway. He had the power of regeneration that was now empowered by his god. He was confident that he could withstand any damage, but Dohyuk wasn’t trying to beat him up.
nJust once, as a means to push him away, Dohyuk kicked Changkun’s chest.
n“What is this?” Changkun scoffed. He didn’t even need to heal. Then, a flame erupted.
n“W-What! A f-fire?!”
n“It’s an expensive fire.”
nIt was.
n-Faith: 30914
nNor was it a normal one at that.
n<
nChangkun felt something had gone wrong. The fire was overwhelming his talent to heal and was burning deep into his skin.
n“G-get this off…”
n“I don’t want to.”
n“GET IT OFF ME!!!”
nChangkun charged. Finally, Dohyuk began beating him up.
nThe Goddess of Fire. She had lost her divinity, but the power she regained, even if it was temporary, was still ever so powerful.
n“AAAAAAARGH!!!” Changkun screamed, swinging his fists frantically as his eyeballs burned. He then fell to the ground as Dohyuk kicked his leg.
n“Stay there,” Dohyuk said as he stepped on his stomach, holding him down. “You might spread the fire.”
nAnd that was his demise – just like how he liked to be in front of everyone, and just like how he hated to die a painful death as he was burned alive.
nThe Nature that kept him alive, was only a hindrance now.
nAnd at last.
n<
n<
nThe flame that covered Dohyuk disappeared, and in front of him, a new flame erupted. It was only fist-sized with the figure of a human. The Goddess of Fire was much smaller than he remembered.
n-…Huh?
nShe scanned Dohyuk from top to bottom with a shocked look, and in a shaking voice, she gasped.
n-…Y-you’re naked!
n“…!”
n-PERVERT!!!
n
