210 One on One

n“Bring it on!”
nThe abomination’s ice-headed snake’s maw opened, spewing thousands of cold sharp crystals towards Viktor. Ice shards moved faster than the wind, but Viktor conjured an iron wall, and the shards bounced to the ground harmlessly.
nClank! Clank! Clank!
nThe Metal Wall gave Viktor enough time to summon Metal Minion. Viktor spilled a pile of iron from his ring to the ground, and they all turned into five iron golems, each 1 meter high. Then, Viktor took out Chain Strike and gave each of them chains a few meters long.
n“Distract them, and aim to entangle their feet, got it?”
nThe iron dolls did not answer, but understood what their master meant. Then they began to advance against the chimera.
nAfter a few seconds, the storm of icicles stopped, and the two snake heads turned to the five metal golems running towards them. In an instant, the beast conjured a burst of flame.
nThe minions’ bodies are small and sturdy, and as such, the ice crystals that managed to hit only bounced off harmlessly on their skin. However, the burst of fire was enough to make the minions melt like chocolate.
nThe remaining minions made it to the chimera’s feet. The two of them both ran around one of the creature’s legs, intending to wrap the chains around them,, but of course they were immediately kicked by the chimera.
nBoth minions flew backwards and landed hard on the wall. As they slide down, they immediately turned into scrap metal.
nBy the time the attention of the four heads turned, Viktor was already floating in the air, right above the heads of the goat,
n“Aaaarrgghh!”
nSplat—!
nThe goat’s head was split in half, and the lion’s head roared. The roar sent a mighty shockwave all around the place and pierced Viktor’s ears.
nEven though Viktor had stuffed his ears before plunging himself into the hole, the sharp sound still had an effect on him. As a result, Viktor’s balance faltered, and as he fell, he was hit by a quick tail flick.
nBam!
nViktor shot 100 meters backwards and crashed into a wall. The metal armor on the chest was scratched, and the wound barely pierced his skin.
nAn excruciating pain ran through his body, but there was no time to wait around and get used to the pain, as the monster was gearing up for another attack.
nInstantly thorns the size of an adult’s arm in the thousands grabbed him. Then Viktor immediately took out Metal Wall.
nClank! Clank! Clank!
nThe thorns bounced in various directions.
nViktor again summoned Metal Minion to distract the creature. But it didn’t work the second time. The minions were instantly blown away by the flames.
nChimeras possessed a terrifying form and a massive strength that could lay entire armies to waste, however, their most dangerous trait was neither of those, but their intelligence. They have some sort of ability to see through tactics and adjust their fighting methods to a limited degree.
nViktor clicked his tongue. He could no longer use the same method.
nNow, it was the Chimera’s turn to attack.
nThe head of the fire serpent spewed fire like a dragon towards the Metal Wall. Chimera knew Viktor was hiding behind there. It didn’t take long for the wall to share the same fate as the minions.
nViktor immediately jumped and thousands of poisonous thorns chased him.
nPhew! Phew! Phew!
nAfter that a burst of fire and ice crystals rushed at him.
nBam! Bam! Bam!
n“Fuck!”
nViktor leaned to the side, barely managing to dodge the deadly attack. Ice crystals and poisonous thorns spread to all directions, but that was not his main problem, for he was fast enough to dodge them all. What concerned him more was the flames. They covered a large area, forcing Viktor to retreat.
nNot to mention, the flames prevented most of his defensive and offensive spells from affecting the chimera. Viktor tried to use Metal Wall. Chain Strike, and even Metal Bullet, but everything just melted away.
nViktor could only rely on Spell buffs like Speed Up and Strength Up. He even thought about using All Might, but he abandoned the idea because it was too early in the fight. The divine skill was his last resort, and he wanted to save it for later.
nHe was running out of options.
n“Djinn, is there a way to beat him?”
n
nAfter that Viktor smiled.
nHe stopped running and conjured a massive Metal Wall. Within less than a second, the storm of fire reached him and devoured the wall, making it start to melt. Viktor has realized this from the beginning, and for that, he did not make just one wall. He made layers of metallic walls and prepared his next attack.
nThen he stood at the very back of the wall. He shook his hand and made a gesture similar to pulling the trigger of a gun..
n“Bye-Bye!”
nThousands of metal bullets appeared out of thin air, then all shot forward, shattering the cave walls directly above the Chimera.
nBbbrrrrrrr!
nInstantly the cave wall collapsed and buried the entire body of the chimera, leaving two heads of fire and ice snakes. The other heads have all been buried under rubble.
nWithout wasting any time, Viktor used Speed Up and shot like lightning towards Chimaera. Then his two axes swung.
nSplat—! Bam!
nOne head of the fire serpent fell to the ground. Of course, the other snake head went berserk and spouted thousands of ice crystals. But it was easy for Viktor to avoid it.
nSlash! Splat—!
nAnother fallen snake head.
nNow all that’s left is the lion’s head.
nThe boulders that had piled up the chimera’s body began to shake. It didn’t take long for the chimera figure to rise from the slump. The lion’s head groaned, between pain and anger.
nMeanwhile, Viktor smiled broadly when he saw the Chimera standing tall. He knew the monster before him was about to roar, but before that happened, Viktor had already shot with a speed faster than the speed of sound.
nSlash—! Bam!
nThe lion’s head fell to the ground, as did its body.
n“Finally.”
nAfter that, Viktor immediately lay down. He thought everything was over. But Djinn immediately gave a warning.
n
nHis eyes immediately opened wide. He had just neglected something very important.
nViktor quickly got up. His head was now filled with questions. He was sure he had followed the procedure in the Battle of Perm City.
nThen he remembered something. The Heaven’s Will Guild Master, Radcliff, inspected the tail after decapitating the Chimera’s entire head.
n“Maybe something’s hidden in there.”
nViktor decided to check it out. And it turned out that his guess was right, there was still the last head hiding under the tail.
n“Oh, I see.”
nWithout wasting any more time, He immediately cut it off.
nƥαṇdα-ηθνε|·ƈθm
nWhen the last head was cut off, a notification popped up in his head.
nYou have received 9 points of spirit force!
nYou have reached a breakthrough into a new realm!
nSky Realm – middle stage
nYou have received 50 status points that can be freely distributed!
nYou have received 1 magic point!
nNow, Viktor really can breathe a sigh of relief. His chest was filled with euphoria. Not only was he able to break through the middle stage, but he also managed to defeat the chimera alone. A feat that other Sky Realms probably wouldn’t be able to do.
n“Time for me to leave this hell hole.”
