nCain replied nonchalantly, “If you break the vow, the Beast God will punish you!”
nSu Tang felt angry and anxious.
nShe was angry that Cain made a vow out of the blue and was anxious that he might blame her when the gods punished him one day!
n“Don’t randomly make vows to the Beast God from now on, got it?”
nCain looked at Su Tang calmly without answering.
nWas she worried about him? It felt rather good when someone showed concern over him!
nSu Tang looked anxious. “Did you hear me?”
nCain nodded. “Yeah. Got it!”
nHe took everything about Su Tang seriously!
nSu Tang finally heaved a sigh of relief.
n…
n“Healer! I’m here with your water.”
nA voice could be heard before someone entered the cave.
nYuanyuan came in with a leaf filled with clean water.
n“Drink up. I will get you more when you’re done!”
nSu Tang reached her hand out to take the leaf, but Yuanyuan dodged her.
n“Healer, the leaf is tricky to hold. Let me hold it for you to drink!”.
nSu Tang had no choice but to gently hold the edge of the leaf while she took sips of water.
nCain was particularly angry. “Yuanyuan, have you forgotten what I told you at the stream?”
nYuanyuan looked at him with her big bright eyes innocently. She honestly could not remember what the chief had said.
nColdness started radiating from Cain as he spoke in an angry tone. “You were supposed to hide the fact that she was the one who saved Meng Zi. Are you trying to broadcast it to the entire tribe by calling her Healer so loudly?”
nYuanyuan instantly realized her mistake!
nShe apologized, “My mistake, Chief. I was too excited when I saw Healer… I mean Tangtang!”
nCain’s voice sounded stiff like an emotionless machine. “Don’t do it again! Leave!”
nYuanyuan happily left the cave with the water when she heard his order.
nSu Tang felt awful. All she wanted was to drink a few more sips of water…
nA look of desperation emerged on her face.
nCain turned to look at Su Tang and said in a gentler tone, “Eat up before it turns cold. Just take a bite for now. I will make you more tonight!”
nSu Tang waved her hand hurriedly. “It’s fine. I can’t even finish this as it is, so don’t bother making me more!”
nCain could not help frowning. “You have to eat more meat. You are simply too skinny!”
nSu Tang lowered her head to eat quietly. She had a generation gap with the people here. No one appreciated the slender body that she worked so hard to maintain!
n╯^╰
nSu Tang ate one more piece of meat before she stopped!
nThe roast meat was tasteless and greasy. Despite how fresh the meat was, it could not change the fact that it tasted awful!
n“That’s all?”
nSu Tang nodded and patted her belly to indicate that she was full!
nCain frowned. He abruptly pulled Su Tang into his arms and placed his hand on her stomach.
nSu Tang’s face blushed for the nth time!
n“W-what are you doing?”
nJust as Su Tang was about to retaliate with her tiny fists, Cain let go of her!
nOn account that he was a national protected animal, Su Tang decided to let him off!
n“You barely ate anything. You need to eat more meat. Otherwise, you won’t be able to make it past the cold season!”
nCain looked as though Su Tang would instantly die if she did not eat meat. Su Tang genuinely felt exhausted from explaining herself.
nShe picked up the fruit on the leaf and cleaned it on her doctor’s robe before she ate it to get rid of the greasy taste in her mouth.
nHowever, Cain unexpectedly reached his hand out to stop her.
